When I saw this post on the How About Orange blog I knew I had to give it a whirl. Seriously, who could resist!
While I don't believe that her other posts about money origami or being able to make roses out of straw wrappers constitutes an "essential life skill", toilet paper origami is definitely something everyone should learn lol
For my toilet paper origami experiment, I chose to make the 'flourish' design as I thought it looked the most elegant and would be the one that would impress Matty the most.
When I started this blog I never imagined I would be taking a picture of my toilet roll holder, yet alas, here we are!:
So, what was Matty's reaction to my toilet paper origami when he got home? Well it was disappointing to say the least....
First of all, I had done my toilet paper origami to the roll of toilet paper in the main toilet (which is the one he usually uses). As Murphy's Law would have it, he decided to use the toilet in the ensuite all night *sigh*.
In the end I said to him "Oh for goodness sake, go to the other toilet and pretend you're having a poo" lol..... He didn't question me at all and trundled off to do as I had asked.
I expected to hear a little giggle at the least, but it was more like a snort. He came into the bedroom and said (in his most unimpressed voice) "I nearly got skewered by the fancy folding going on with the toilet paper." It was heartbreaking. That's the last time I go to the effort of folding the toilet paper all fancy like lol.
